Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], June 20: ET Now Global DEI Alliance, is all set to host the 3rd Edition of the ET Now Diversity & Inclusion Summit 2024, a flagship event focused on accelerating diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in the workplace and beyond. The summit will take place on Friday, June 21st from 9:30 AM to 1 PM at the prestigious Taj Santacruz in Mumbai.

Global DEI Alliance, an initiative to foster Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in the workplace and beyond, is set to build an inclusive culture in India’s corporate landscape. With a mission to create a more inclusive and diverse workforce, the alliance aims to collaborate with organisations from various industries to share ideas, best practices, and resources to become a more diverse, equitable and inclusive workspace.

As we celebrate Women’s Day 2024 with the theme of “Inspiring Inclusion”, it’s imperative to highlight that the financial inclusion of women in the workforce is crucial for their economic empowerment, as it enhances their contribution to the economy, drives innovation, and fosters sustainable growth, ultimately leading to a more inclusive and prosperous society.

In a world where diversity and inclusivity are no longer mere buzzwords but essential drivers of progress, the purple economy stands as a beacon of hope, opportunity, and untapped potential. This emerging economic perspective is centred around the needs, talents, and contributions of persons with disabilities (PwDs), a segment of society that has long been marginalised and underrepresented in the workforce.

n the pursuit of a diverse workforce, organisations face a persistent challenge – unconscious bias in hiring processes. This subtle yet impactful force can permeate various stages of recruitment, contributing to unintended consequences such as a lack of diversity, missed talent, and a less inclusive workplace. As technology plays an ever-expanding role in recruitment through AI and data analytics, it becomes imperative to address the implicit biases embedded in the algorithms, shaped by the data sets they use.

As India’s corporate landscape undergoes a transformation, the principles of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) are assuming a central role in shaping its future. In recent years, a confluence of societal shifts, regulatory changes, and organisational imperatives has propelled DEI to the forefront of discussions within the Indian workforce.

Each generation brings a distinct perspective to the world, shaped by life experiences. Those who survived the war deemed hard work, loyalty and optimism invaluable for rebuilding. The following generation, Gen X, leaned towards self-reliance, becoming independent at a very young age. Millennials, the most educated ones alive, are more focused on inclusion and representation, making our society multicultural.
